This section outlines the procedure for HEED registration. Placement of students in classes at HEED is determined by many factors. Class size is limited and many sections will fill immediately. Please be aware that we are only able to accommodate a limited number of families.
New Families - Important
1. All parents with students new to HEED are asked to contact HEED Directors for a brief phone interview. Please e-mail heeddirectors@gmail.com to set-up a day and time.
All Registering Students
When registering for classses, please be mindful of the following important HEED policies:
1. Parental Involvement: As with all home education classes, parents are the primary educators, administrators, and disciplinarians of their students. The HEED instructor is the tutor teaching the student in class, while the parent oversees and leads the student during the week. Parents will need to remain involved by: being aware of assignments, due dates, and student progress, as well as providing help for their individual student when needed. Keeping up on all assignments and handing in work on time is crucial for the success of the class and for the course to progress along throughout the year.
2. Children younger than a traditional 6th grade student will not be considered for placement. Students are not permitted to be at HEED without a parent, unless they are in class. If a student has a free period, he/she must be picked up or arrangements must be made with an adult on the premises to supervise them at all times. No exceptions please.
3. Please Note: HEED is not equipped to have students, multiple siblings, and families stay in the gym for consecutive free periods. For example, if your student has only a first period class and a fourth period class, the parent may come and supervise him/her at HEED during that free time. If it is necessary to bring the whole family along to supervise their free periods he/she should be picked up for their free time and brought back for their class.
4. Please be sure you have read through each of the class descriptions thoroughly to familiarize yourself with the class course and what the student expectations are.
1. After 8:00 am on the morning of April 12th (For Current HEED Families) OR April 14th (Open to ALL Families) registration for 2010-2011 classes will begin. Please be careful to follow instructions below to ensure your registration request is processed correctly.
2. To register for classes, please fill out a Registration Request Form. (ONE FORM PER STUDENT ONLY). This Form may be obtained by clicking the link below. This on-line form contains ALL the FALL Classes being taught at HEED in 2010-2011. (Registration for Spring Only Classes will begin in November). Please fill in all the required areas first, and then select the class or classes you would like to request registration for. All forms being submitted must include the required ( *) information or they will not be accepted.
3. Once you have filled in the Registration Request Form, (you may want to print a copy for yourself) click the “Submit Registration” button to complete your registration request process. Forms are then reviewed by the HEED Administrator, and class placement status will be confirmed by April 30th. Registration requests received prior to your registration time will not be accepted.

Applicants will be notified via e-mail that their request has been received
* Applicant's placement status in the class will be confirmed no later than April 30th. Once a class is full, an applicant will be placed on a waiting list. All classes are subject to cancellation based on enrollment.
Complete & Mail HEED Registration Forms & Fees (Due May 7th)
* Once an applicant receives confirmation in a class, and after reading the HEED Handbook and the HEED Code of Conduct, the parents, along with the student, must then complete and mail in the HEED Family Registration and Student Registration Forms. Please note that all students and parents (new and returning) must read the 2010-2011 HEED Handbook and Code of Conduct before signing the registration forms. The HEED registration forms and non refundable registration fee must be submitted no later than May 7th or that student may be dropped from class(es). The 2010-2011 registration fees for HEED are $25.00 per student or $45.00 per family. Registration forms are available on-line "Here" and on the "Downloads" page..
Teachers Deposits Due (May 7th)
* To secure a student's place in a class, a non-refundable deposit of $100.00 ($50.00 for a one semester class) is due to the instructor by May 7th. The remaining balance for each class will be paid directly to the instructor by August 13th or the student may be dropped from the class. Instructors are responsible for setting their tuition rates and for collecting payments. Financial Aid forms are available on-line "Here" and on the "Downloads" page and must be submitted by April 14th. Donations for financial aid are always welcome.
Tuition refunds are not available once a class begins. Our instructors expect that when a student enrolls he/she will complete the course. When that changes all are potentially affected.
