HEED Naples classes are not accredited nor is HEED Naples pursuing accreditation as a school, however if the high school student completes the assigned work to the instructor's satisfaction, the course should be recorded as a high school credit for that area of study.
.
Parental Involvement: As with all home education classes, parents are the primary educators, administrators, and disciplinarians of their students. The HEED instructor is the tutor teaching the student in class, while the parent oversees and leads the student during the week. Parents will need to remain involved by: being aware of assignments, due dates, and student progress, as well as providing help for their individual student when needed. Keeping up on all assignments and handing in work on time is crucial for the success of the class and for the course to progress along throughout the year. Not all classes are offered every year.

“It is okay, in fact good, for children to be bold with words—even to an extreme. We don’t know what they will be called to do in life.”
--A. Pudewa, Institute for Excellence in Writing
In Rhetoric Level writing, students are exposed to a number of upper level disciplines; public speaking, essay writing and debate-- without the fear and humility which students (and parents) often associate with these subjects. As home educators and Christians we place a high value on thinking and reasoning. By utilizing a Classical Rhetoric approach, students will learn more than the forms and functions of writing. It is my goal to encourage student to boldly and clearly express and defend their ideas concerning issues facing society day. (Note: Internet research will be required for this class.)
Homework: Students should expect approximately 1-2 hours of homework per week to prepare for this class.
